Half Marathon in Mysuru on September 11

Mysuru: As part of Celebration Run Series, Life is Calling, a Sports Management Company will be organizing the 6th edition of Celebration Mysuru 21.1km half Marathon, 10Km and 6 Km run events on September 11 at Mysuru Palace Balarama Gate. Those who take part in the event will be eligible to take part in India’s biggest Marathon in Mumbai.
run mysorePB Mithra, one among the event organisers said, “The event to be flagged off at 6.15 am, will have Half Marathon, 10 kms run for participants who are 16 years old and above and Kotak Mahindra Bank 6 Kms Run/Walk for participants who are 10 yrs and above. The Half Marathon and 10 Kms run are competitive categories with the participants expected from not only across the State but also from different states. The Kotak Mahindra Bank 6 Kms Celebration Run/Walk is a non-competitive category to encourage large number of participants from Mysuru to promote fitness and healthy living. Last year nearly 3000 participants took part in the event and this year we are expecting more than 4000 participants”. He also mentioned that those who can’t afford to give entry fee can still take part in the race.

He also mentioned that all the Kotak Mahindra Bank 6 Kms Run/Walk participants will be given finisher medals and participation certificates to make their participation memorable. The top 3 winners in Half Marathon and 10 Kms run will be given trophies in 3 categories (Open /Senior / Veteran) for both men and women and all the finishers will be given medals. The marathon event is being organized under the auspices of Karnataka Athletics Association (KAA) in association with Mysuru City Police and mysuru Ladies Circle 9 being the Cause Partner.

The organisers have planned a 5 kms Promo Run/Walk on August at 6.30 am from Balarama Gate, the registration for which is Free. To register Call 9980744332.

Entry fee is Rs 900, but no cash award for the winners!

Surprisingly, though the entry fee for the event is Rs 900 per head, the organisers have not come out with any cash prize for the winners instead they will be giving just a medal or a trophy and a certificate.
