Mysuru: Negilayogi Samajaseva Trust in association with Vidyavardhaka Education Trust and Indian Martial Arts Training and Research Academy will be organising a 30-day free karate training classes for both boys and girls from April 25 to May 25 and a 15-day self defence technique training for girls between April 25 and May 10.
The 30-day free Karate training for both boys and girls is open to those aged above 5 years while the 15-day self defence class is exclusively for girls aged 10 years and above. The training programme will be held everyday from 6.30 am to 8 am and 5.30 pm to 7 pm at Vidyavardhaka Educational Complex, Sheshadri Iyer Road, near RMC and Negilayogi Maruleshwara Seva Bhavana, Adhichunchanagiri Road, Jayanagar railway gate route, K G Koppal.
Speaking to Newskarnataka, B S Srinath Urs, Coordinator and Trainer said, “During the training programme, basic karate and self defence techniques will be taught by qualified and well experienced instructors. For women, self defence training will be given by qualified lady instructors. World Junior K-1 Kickboxing Champion and International Level Karate exponent Deia S Urs will train children (especially girls) in this camp. Many people especially children will be very eager to learn Karate but due to various reasons they will not be in a position to pursue it. Hence to provide opportunities to all the children we are conducting this event free of cost”.
It may be brought to light here that after the Delhi rape incident was reported, Karate champion Deia S Urs had conducted few free Karate self-defence classes for girls.
