Mysuru: Former MP H Vishwanath on Tuesday confirmed his exit from Congress by next week.

Former minister H Vishwanath all set to join JD (S)-1Addressing a meeting with supporters here at a private hotel, Vishwanath said, “I have worked for Congress in the last 40 years. It is not a party of Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. This is Siddaramaiah’s Congress. I will quit the party in next few days and I will announce my next move after Ramzan.”

“Congress is like my mother. It has been many years since I have attended party gatherings. I was the one who made Siddaramaiah as the opposition leader. When he became the CM I was delighted and along with Ramesh Kumar I advised the government to come up with various schemes. When media persons questioned about involvement of a minister’s son in sand mafia, I agreed. Ever since my relationship with the party worsened. They issued notice for speaking against the party. With whom should share my pain?”, he questioned.

He also lashed out at CM’s close confidante Marigowda and Minister Mahadevappa.
