Fake marks card racket kingpin drew Rs 9500 salary and travelled in Merc!

Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police have trapped the kingpin and widened their network to trap many others involved in the fake marks card racket.

After arresting Yashaswini, one among the prime accused, few days ago, police trapped the kingpin, a temporary employee at Karnataka state Open University, (KSOU) named Prajwal and three of his associates. The others nabbed are Sagar from Kolar, Kishan, a resident of Gokulam in the city and Menon from Mahadevapura, Bengaluru.

Incidentally, Kingpin Prajwal employed on temporary basis, drawing a salary of Rs 9500 at KSOU, travelled in Mercedez Benz car using the dubious financial resources generated by supplying fake marks cards to gullible candidates. He developed contacts with companies supplying marks cards to KSOU through official channel and used his links to generate fake marks cards to run his fraudulent business.
Based on his revelations, police have formed 2 more teams to nab several other of his accomplices in North Karnataka and Hassan districts.
