Mysuru: A conman who has been impersonating a police constable to cheat people has been arrested by K R Puram police.
Supreet Kumar alias Shivakumar alias Preetham is the accused nabbed by the police.
The conman’s modus operandi was to contact people assuring them of jobs in police department. He would introduce as a constable employed in Lashkar police station to gain the confidence of gullible people and ultimately cheat them.
In other cases, he would assure them of getting seized vehicles lying in police custody at reduced prices.
One victim by name Saravana duped by the accused had lodged a complaint at the K R Puram police station. Police were surprised when they realised that he was not on the police rolls.
Immediately they arrested him by slapping a cheating case.
