Mysuru: Taking on Bengaluru City Development Minister for his casual remarks on rain fury, Janata Dal (Secular) State President and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy lashed out at the state government by stating that it is unfit to govern.

Speaking to reporters after meeting Suttur Seer, H D Kumaraswamy said, the statement by K J George reflected the state of affairs and said the ruling government was unfit to govern as it was busy looting wealth by neglecting development.

It may be recalled that minister had causally commented, “What can one do, if the city receives such record level rainfall?”, while visiting rain affected areas on August 15 to evade facing brickbats from affected people.

“God has given you wealth sufficient for next 50 generations and instead of amassing more, give priority to Bengaluru city development,” HDK said, taking a jibe at minister George on the occasion.

When people in power accept Rs 1-2 Crore from BBMP officials for appointment to select posts, is it possible to control or dictate terms to them?, HDK questioned. Instead of giving callous response, it’s better for the government to demit office, HDK stated.

The people need to learn from these circumstances and avoid voting for Congress and BJP in future, HDK suggested.

HDK wished well for Sandalwood star Upendra for his “Prajakiya” political venture and offered to give vital suggestions, whenever the actor approaches him.

I-T department conducting raids is a common phenomenon and they will not take prior approval from either the PM or home ministry before raids, HDK said and added, “Those at the receiving end approach the PM to save themselves after the raids by using all possible influence. I have witnessed such scenarios in the past being a parliamentarian.”

On arrival, HDK had visited Suttur matt to meet the seer and held discussions with him for over an hour after seeking his blessings.

“I visited Singapore to take doctor’s advice,” HDK stated refuting serious concerns about his health condition and asked his party supporters not to worry on that count.
