Mysuru: The State Chief Minister is mulling handing over a constitutional position to his son Yathindra after facing criticism over latter’s interference in policy and decision making process of district administration.
There was stiff opposition from certain quarters over Yathindra’s interference in administration process by directing officials to implement government programmes.
In order to avoid embarrassment in the future and to retain hold over the happenings in his home district and Varuna constituency in particular, it is learnt that CM is planning to nominate Yathinda as Mysuru Development Co-ordination Committee member.
Though it was in the agenda during the Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) meeting held at Zilla Panchayath auditorium on April 25, the plan could not fructify, due to the absence of District In-charge Minister H C Mahadevappa, who is unwell.
Confirming the developments, Chamarajanagar Congress MP Dhruvanaryan said, the issue will be taken up during the next meeting to nominate Yathinda as a member of the city’s Development Coordination Committee.
