BJP violates model code of conduct in Gundlupet, case registered

Gundlupet : A case stands registered against BJP for violating the model code of conduct in Gundlupet police station, confirmed election officer Nalin Atul on Thursday, March 23.

As per reports, BJP had taken out a procession from Zakir Hussain layout to Mahadevaprasad Nagar on March 22 to support its candidate C S Niranjan Kumar which also saw the participation of state party president B S Yedyurappa. However while it had obtained permission to organize the procession with 100 -150 volunteers, nearly 600 -700 party activists took part in the same. The procession also saw the use of loud speakers fitted to vehicles, in violation of election commission guidelines.

Taking cognisance of the incident, a case has been registered against BJP in Gundlupet police station, said Nalin Atul, election officer.

Liquor seized

Police seized liquor in various measures from Siddayyanapura village of Kollegal taluk, Maliyur ,Harave and Udigala villages of Chamarajanagar taluk and cases have been registered against offenders, confirmed Nalin Atul.
