Mysuru: The bandh call given by the BJP and the RSS over killing of BJP leader Raju on Sunday turned violent with miscreants setting an auto on fire at KR Hospital premises on Monday.
The protesters blocked the roads, set a auto on fire and pelted stones at private buses.

At a peace meeting called by the district administration, the pro-Hindu activists demanded Rs 25 lakh compensation to the kin of the victim and arrest the culprits at the earliest. They also demanded to shut a mosque near Khyathamaranahalli.

The district adminstration’s recommendation to the state government to provide Rs 5 lakh compensation to the victim’s family has been opposed by the BJP and pro-hindu organisations and have decided not to take the body from the mortuary if their demands were not fulfilled.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister speaking to media persons said that law will take its own course of action on the case and urged people of Mysuru to be calm and not react to rumors.
