Mysuru: This incident appears to have been extracted straight from a Bollywood movie script, as a senior childless citizen was kidnapped from a private hospital for financial gain.
Gurusiddappa, a resident of Agrahara was kidnapped from a private nursing home by a group of men by dragging him to their car. After taking the ailing man to an isolated location near Jaganmohan Palace, he was forced to sign on five bond papers. Finally he was dropped back at the hospital to hush up the incident.
Reason behind Kidnap:
The elderly citizen owns a prime property valued at about Rs 1.5 Crore near Ganesha temple in Agrahara. Due to old age and ill health, Gurusiddappa planned to dispose the property and in the process came in contact with Puttaswamy .The accused BJP leader Puttaswamy signed an agreement of sale with the aged person for transfer of property. Puttaswamy was supposed to deliver the cash within six months period as per the agreement terms.
Citing demonetisation, he had asked Gurusiddappa to sign few documents to enable him to avail loans from banks. Gurusiddappa refused to heed to his demand which angered Puttaswamy. Finally he hatched a plot to kidnap the ailing senior citizen from the hospital.
A relative of Gurusiddappa, Manjuanth filed a complaint based on the old man’s narrative with Narasimharaja police. Police succeeded in nabbing the accused BJP leader Puttaswamy, a resident of Alanahalli and his accomplice Kishore in connection with the kidnapping incident.
