Mysuru: The University of Mysore signed an agreement with Ocado University, Japan to conduct combined research and exchange students, and research scholars, faculties and study materials with each other.
Addressing media persons after signing the treaty at a Conference Hall in Crawford Hall, the Vice Chancellor of Mysore University K S Rangappa said that there will be about 20-25 students and faculty in the exchange programme every year.Besides, he added, “scientists and research scholars from the respective countries including in India, Japan and South Africa have been jointly engaged in a study on preventing cancer and other diseases from the past seven months. The studies are supposed to conclude in three years”.
“Conducting combined research in collaboration with global universities would help to establish a research Institute at the University of Mysore. A high number of researches are required to qualify the Research Institute under the MHRD”, the Vice Chancellor said
Professor, Keizo Yamaguchi, President, Ocado University, Japan, Prof. C Basavaraju Registrar University of Mysore and other officials of both Universities were present.
