Mysuru: Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Praveen Togadia, who was recently officially banned from entering Bengaluru to address a Hindu convention is scheduled to address four gatherings in the State in March. He is expected to address the Viraat Hindu Samajothsavas at Udupi on March 9, Chikkamagaluru and Hassan on March 10 and Mysuru on March 11.
Addressing a press meet, Rajendra Babu N K, president of the Mysuru unit of VHP, said, “The objective of the Samajothsava – being held to mark the 50th anniversary of VHP – is the protection of cows, ban on conversion and promotion of harmony in the society.”
Clariying the ban and the decision to address these rallies, Babu said that the ban on Togadia was restricted to Bengaluru and did not apply to other parts of the State.
About 20,000 people from various parts of Mysuru district are expected to gather at the Doddakere Maidan, opposite the Exhibition Grounds, for the convention on March 11, he said.
