Mysore :The district administration has decided not to use bouquets and garlands to greet the dignitaries during Dasara festivities this year. Instead, it has been decided to greet the dignitaries by handing over saplings.
Speaking to media persons after the release of Dasara Wrestling poster at ZP auditorium yesterday, District Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad said that the committee had taken a decision as per the suggestions made by ZP President Dr. Pushpavathi Amarnath.
During the Dasara High Level Committee meeting held recently at Vidhana Soudha in Bangalore, Dr. Pushpavathi Amarnath had requested Chief Minister Siddharamaiah to ban the use of plastics during the Dasara festivities for which the CM had given his nod.
As per the State Government orders, DC C. Shikha has passed an order informing the officials regarding the ban imposed on use of plastics during Dasara festival.
