Theft at apartment; cash jewells stolen

Mysore: Miscreants who broke into an apartment in Lakshmipuram have decamped with cash and gold jewellery worth about Rs. 3.5 lakh from a flat on Tuesday.

It is reported that the flat belonged to 60-year-old Premakumari, who was living alone.

The miscreants, who had closely watched her movements, broke into the flat when she was away yesterday and decamped with Rs. 3 lakh cash and 15 grams gold bangles.

Lakshmipuram Police Inspector Siddaraju, CCB ACP K.N. Madaiah, DCP M.M. Mahadevaiah and staff, who rushed to the spot on receiving information, conducted mahazar besides pressing fingerprint experts and dog squad into service.

Fingerprint division in-charge ACP Rajashekar, SI Appajigowda and others inspected the spot.

A case has been registered in this regard and investigations are on.
