Suttur Mutt celebrates Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji’s 99th birthday

Mysore :Suttur Mutt, Mysore celebrated the 99th birthday of  Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji, who was instrumental in building the JSS Mahavidhya Peeth, which runs more than 200 educational and philanthropic institutions all over the state and country.

The program was inaugurated by G.M. Siddeshwara, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation of India and presided over  by Srinivas Gowda, Revenue Minister, Karnataka. Sri Shivamurthy Shivacharya Swamiji of famous Taralabalu Sirigere mutt flagged off a procession highlighting the culture and the history of the Suttur mutt.

Inaugurating the function Siddeshwara said that he was attracted by the ever smiling face and positive attitude of Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswamy. The equality shown by him was impressive.  Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswamy did not have any religious bias and he treated all equally.

Shivaratri Ragendra Mahaswamy mainly concentrated on the poor people and supported them in all fields. He developed healthcare and education sectors immensely,  so that poor people can get better education and medical treatment across the globe.

The present Shivaratri Deshikendra Mahaswamy, Suttur Mutt, Mysore, also travelled the same path in fulfilling the dreams of Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswamy and wished him well in his endeavors.

He also opined that society will remember for long time people who worked for society not caste and religion.

The merit holders of JSS institutions were honored during the function by Minister. H S Mahadev Prasad.

Tanveer Seet, G T Deve Gowda, M K Somshekar, Vasu were also present at the function.

Though the seer’s birthday falls on 29 August, the mutt authorities advanced the celebrations by three days as Ganesh festival coincides with his birthday. ” To make the people participate in the celebrations in a big way we have advanced the birthday celebrations,” the JSS Mahavidhya peeth secretary Manjunath said,” Several functions were organized on the day to make the celebrations more meaningful and educative.
