Mysuru: The students of the Regional Institute of Education (RIE) protested for the third time with a hunger strike in the campus in regard to the delay of recognition of various courses of the Institute by the Central Government.
According to the students, the officials have still not responded, despite the one month’s time the college authorities had previously asked for being allowed bythe students calling off their earlier protest.
Speaking to NK, one of the students said, “They keep on giving reasons and delaying to get the recognition for the courses and the principal says that the institute had been making continuous efforts to get the recognition ever since the course was introduced.”
Mohan, Kruthika, Kalpana, Shanthi, Harish, Maruthi and Saritha were hospitalised due to dehydration on account of the hunger strike.
