Mysuru: A state level poetry seminar was organized by the Lakkamma Devi Cultural Literary Sports Committee lead by Gadaari Krishnappa Rangenahalli at Hiriyur Taluk Chitradurga District.
Inaugurating the seminar, Dr KaleGowda Nagavara recalled the situation during the emergency, how the poets were treated and during the Kannada Ekikarana. He said that he is very much glad to see that a village has so much concern about Kannada and has organised a State level seminar.
R G Ambarish Sarangi, TV serial actor, expressed his opinion on changing culture in India. “The dressing sense and daily life of students has changed very much so we need to educate the present youngsters with our culture, and a seminar like this will help a lot in order to achieve that”.
More than 30 poets narrated their poems during the seminar.
Presiding over the seminar Chandrashekar Patil took the example of poet Sharif, when he said “to write poems dedication matters a lot, rather than situation”.
He told the young poets present, to update their technological knowledge, adapt to the situation and work on literature. He appreciated the the organisers for the state level seminar and said “this is a platform to young poets”.
Dr L Hanumanthayya who, was present on the dais, took charge as President of Kannada Abhivrudhi Pradhikara.
D Sudhakar, MLA Hiriyur taluk, was also present at the seminar. He was given a request to renovate the school and organize a a bank branch for the village, by the locals. He said that the request will be considered and executed soon.
Agrahara Krishnamurthy, Shoodra Srinivas, other senior journalists and old students of the village were felicitated during the seminar.
