Mysuru: City’s new Police Commissioner B. Dayanand, who took charge from Dr. M.A. Saleem on Apr. 29, has begun his bike ride since three days in city, identifying traffic problems and getting them corrected during his rides.

Dressed in a T-Shirt, shorts and wearing a helmet, Police Commissioner Dayanand, who is going round the city, travelled on Vinoba Road and Irwin Road, and found faulty traffic signals at the two junctions. He also took Traffic Police personnel to task over his walkie-talkie.

It is learnt that no one knows where and when he will be besides being difficult to identify him and surprising the cops on duty. The Commissioner, who uses his official car to come to his office from home and return, uses a bike during the remaining time.

Dayanand, who was the Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) in Bengaluru, used to go on bike rides daily and has continued the same here too. He had said that he was very happy to go on bike rides in Mysuru city as he gets an opportunity to see the heritage buildings, Circles and the roads as it would help him in solving traffic related problems in city.
