Mysore: About 23 passengers travelling in a KSRTC bus had a miraculous escape when the bus in which they were travelling crashed into the side-wall of Dalvoy Lake and came to a standstill, thus preventing the bus from falling into the lake on Tuesday September 16.
It is reported that the KSRTC bus coming from Chamarajanagar via Nanjangud was proceeding towards Mysore on Dalvoy Lake road when the driver of the bus saw a tempo overtaking a lorry dangerously.
The driver of the KSRTC bus, Siddesh, in order to avoid the mishap of the tempo being crashed into the bus, swerved towards his left and crashed into the side-wall of the lake.
Fortunately the bus came to a standstill with the rear wheels of the bus holding on to the wall, averting it from falling into the lake.
Meanwhile other passersby who noticed the bus broke the windows and got the passengers out of the bus.
South Police SI Manjunath and staff, rushed to the spot on receiving information, arranged buses for the passengers to reach their destinations. No causalities were reported.
