Mysuru: Hundreds of students from Maharani College staged a protest on JLB Road on Friday against  KSRTC City Bus Drivers.

The students demanded that action be taken against KSRTC City Bus Drivers and conductors as they don’t stop the buses in front of the college and the hostels, where there are designated bus stops. They also complained that the drivers and conductors use abusive language on the buses.

There are two bus stands and there are also traffic signals close to the bus stands, the bus drivers in a hurry not to get caught at the red lights don’t  stop at the designated bus stop but at the traffic signal. If the light is green, the drivers don’t stop at all. They are also begin to drive off before the girls have gotten down from the bus.

“When we ask them why they don’t follow rules, they use abusive language against us, they don’t know how to behave with women,” a student said.
