MUDA official threatened by real estate mafia

Mysuru: In a shocking incident, a MUDA Special Land Acquisition Officer was locked in his chamber by two persons alleged to be from the real estate mafia, recently.

It is reported that a person named Guru, a realtor from KR Mohalla accompanied by two others entered the chamber of Special Land Acquisition Officer – Chidanand.

It is learnt that the realtor was seeking a No Objection Certificate (NOC) in respect of a site in Gokulam in city. However Chidanand, who was taken aback, refused to heed to their demand citing the procedure of inspecting the site and scrutiny of documents before signing the same.

They further threatened him besides locking his chamber from inside, thus restraining Chidanand from discharging his duty.

Meanwhile, Devendra, a group D employee of MUDA repeatedly banged the door forcing the realtors to open the door after which, one of the three, in a fit of rage pushed Devendra aside, who later brought the issue to the notice of other officials and staff.

Lakshmipuram Police, acting on a complaint from Devendra on the incident have booked a case against Guru and two others under sections 363 (restraining official work) and 504 (abuse) of the IPC.

Cops have launched a hunt for the three accused, who are reported to be absconding.
