Legal luminary M A Sampath Iyengar passes away

Mysuru: Legal luminary M A Sampath Iyengar passed away in Mysuru on Thursday night. He was 97.

He was suffering from a lung infection and had just been discharged from Vikram Hospital on Thursday night. He complained of discomfort at 1:30am and breathed his last by 2:15am.

A law graduate from Bombay University,Iyengar was practising law for over 69 years. He served as the President of Mysuru  Bar Association and has been representing several companies and banks for a number of years.

He was associated with several educational and religious institutions such as The National Institute of Engineering, National Institute of Industrial Education, National Institute of Science College, Sharada Vilas Educational Institutions, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Ramakrishna Vidya Shala and Sri Lakshmi Venkataramana Swamy trust.

Iyengar was the recipient of many awards such as Vijay Occasional Award, Mysore Tataiah Award, K N Munshi Award etc.?
