Mysuru: The Karnataka State Open University will celebrate its 15th convocation on March 5, announced Prof M G Krishnan Vice Chancellor KSOU.
He was speaking during the press meet at the Guest House and informed that Karnataka State Governor and Chancellor Vajubhai Vala will preside over the function. Dr Surya Prakash President Prasar Bharathi will address the Convocation. On this occasion R V Deshpande Higher Education Minister will be present.
Registrar of KSOU Prof K J Suresh said that the women has upper hand than men and 437 students from Science stream will be awarded including Degree Post Graduation and Doctorate.
Krishnappa aged 78 will be awarded a degree in Sanskrit. There is increase in pass percentage 38% to 47% compared to last year, he added.
Director Siddalingaih, Dr Surappa ex Director of Indian Institute of Science and Director of IIT Orissa and Vaidehi is a well-known writer of modern Kannada language fiction will be honored by doctorate.
Those who have missed the opportunity to give their exams from 1996 till date will be given chance to give their exams on new syllabus said Registrar P S Naik.
