Journos celebrate World Photographers Day in Mysore

Mysore: The District Journalists Association members felicitated M R Manjunath a senior Photo Journalist on the occasion of World Photographers Day.

President Mysore District Journalistic Association Deepak said, “Photography is not a profession or passion it is indeed a serious business. Mysore has produced many photo journalists who have reached great heights in the field.”

Photography will teach a human being at its initial stage beauty consciousness and later discipline, this will build a personality among the journalists, he said.

In the true sense, Photo Journalists are the real representatives of an organization and uphold the dignity of the press. They are more nearer to the dignitaries on the stage he added.

He further stressed on the activities of the Press Club which is continuously involving in various activities like seminar, Interaction, Workshop which has facilitated many to update the knowledge.

On the Occasion two other senior Photo Journalists Abdul Hafeez, H Gopinath were facilitated.

Speaking to the reporters Abdul Hafeez Senior Photo said, “From past 35 years the scenario has changed and the world has become complex. When I was in Mysore there was no restriction and everything was free. 

The whole day we used to roam in the city and capture the beauty of the city but the Journalists today must work in a restricted work culture”, he said.

Appreciating the Technology he said that digitalization has eased the process of Photography and today journalists are no more in a situation to handle roles which consumed hours together.

Advising the Journalists, he said that it is indispensable to teach Journalism but one should work with dedication.

‎Nagesh Panathale, Madhusudan, and other Photo Journalist from different newspapers were present in the function.

On the occasion an interactive session on Photo Journalism was held at the press club. More than 25 students from JSS Women’s College participated at the event.
