Mysuru: In a nail biting final, JSS Law College marked their victory with a narrow 7-6 win over SBRR Mahajana First Grade College at Mysuru City Inter Collegiate UG and PG Invitational Football Tournament 2015 organised by Athletics Football Club at University of Mysore Football ground on Wednesday.
The match climaxed when the score was tied at one each at the end of regulation time. Goodwin helped JSS Law College to take the lead in the 18th minute.The Mahajana players hit back in the 53rd minute when Nigel scored for them but they missed two scoring opportunities mandating a penalty of shootout.
The team were tied again at 3 each at the penalty shootout. And in the sudden death, JSS scored three goals taking their score to 7. While Mahajana managed to score two goals.
In the Semifinals, JSS beat MIT 1-0 while Mahajana registered a 3-0 over Regional Institute of Education.
Suraj Guarani of Mahajana College was awarded the best player of the tournament trophy, and Shafique of RIE and George of JSS were named best forward and best goal keeper respectively.
