Mysuru: We all know the Tathva’s of Basavanna, and the life history of Dr. B R Ambedkar though we are not fallowing what they have suggested, said Chief Minister Sidharamiah.
He was speaking after the inaugurating Dr. B R Ambedkar’s 124 Birth anniversary celebration and releasing the book “Dr. B R Ambedkar ‘Jeevana Mathu Dyeya’ written by Banthe Veeryasheela held at Budhavihar on Thursday.
He said, “many of us know that people like Basavanna and Ambedkar, fought against casteism, inequality, racism and other social injustices of society. Some are expressed by their Vachana’s and some did protests. But today we only talk about their Thathva and Vachana’s or life history but haven’t followed it”.
Protesting for equal justice is our duty we should fight to get something like we all did in the past. This should also continue in the future, he opined. He stressed, “Eradicating this caste system may take many years, but it should end, and till then we should fight for that”.
Speaking about Ambedkar he said, “Ambedkar was man who had enormous knowledge about gender inequality, casteism, social injustice, discrimination, as he himself had suffered from this system. Based on this experience he had formed a right constitution in India, in that he had mentioned the rights for all people and communities. If there was no Ambedkar, how would have been the condition of this country? We can’t even imagine the situation”, the CM opined.
