CM confers Karnataka State Film Awards in Mysuru

Mysuru: After two-decades, the Karnataka State Film Awards function was held at the Maharaja Ground in Mysuru.

At the function more than 50 Award winners of 2012 and 2013 were felicitated.  Teams from Shivamogga, Kalburgi, Tumkur and parts of the state  performed cultural programs. Speaking at the function Chief minister Siddaramaiah said, ” the quality of films releasing is getting better when compared to old movies. Kannada Film industry should work and try to give good movies in coming days and the State Govt will always will be helpful to the Industry”.

The major project of introducing the film city in Karnataka state which is pending from 3 decades will be resolved soon as the land of 100 acres for Film city is already earmarked near Emaavu, Mysuru and  the construction work will start shortly, he added.

Receiving the Best Actor award, Darshan expressed his happiness at receiving the honor in his own city. He said, the villain character should also be considered and they should also get recognition from the State Govt and awarded.

Listening to this R Roshan Baig ,Minister For Information and Public Relations declared that Darshan’s suggestion will be considered and from next year Best Villain award will also be given.

A majority of Kannada movie artistes were present and Public representatives of the district V Srinivas Prasad District Incharge and State Revenue Minister. Vasu  MLA, Puspa Amarnath President Zilla Panchayat  R Lingappa Mayor, Shikha DC, Dr M A  Saleem Commissioner of Police,  attended the programme.
