Mysuru: Again in a similar situation, Chaithra, a MBA student who had thrashed a man for misbehaving with her earlier on Tuesday, caught another molester and handed him over to Devaraja police here on Wednesday.
The accused is identified as Jameel Ahmed(42), a resident of Lashkar Mohalla. He is married with two children and by profession he is a scooter dealer.
The incident occured when Chaithra was returning to the KSRTC bus stand, after receiving a felicitation by a women’s organisation.
Speaking to sources She said, “I had gotten down near Hardinge Circle and was walking towards the KSRTC bus stand when I noticed this man following me. He came close to me and asked whether I worked in AT&S three years ago. He said suggestively that he was feeling bored, but I ignored him. After reaching the bus stand, I met two of my friends, and told them that if this man troubled me again, I might need their help.
As I walked further, the eve-teaser stopped the bike right in front of me and said, ‘What is wrong? I will pay you money if you come along with me’. I was furious and snatched his vehicle key. I did not want to thrash him as he was aged. Instead, I called the police. Soon people gathered, and the police vehicle arrived at the spot and picked him up.”
A case of sexual harassment under IPC section 354/A has been registered against the accused. He told the police that he was trying to talk to Chaithra as he thought she was his acquaintance, the police said.
