Mysuru: Bomb threats are back in the city on the eve of republic day. On friday, an unknown person called the police with the message that he has placed three bombs in Amba Vilas palace yesterday
Alerted by the call, the dog squad and police officials rushed to the venue, and after much searching they realised it was a hoax call. Later, Police commissioner Dr M A Saleem confirmed it that it was fake call.
Speaking with media persons, palace ACP Chikkanna said, “we have beefed up the security in all four corners of the palace. It is the second time we are getting such a call. On January 3 a similar threat call had come to palace police officials and within 20 days it is being repeated.
The landline phone number 2418552 on which the threat call came through, doesn’t have caller ID and this lacunae is delaying police investigations into the matter.
