Mysuru: An incident of a father and his son attempting to commit suicide over not being nominated has been reported from Ittigegud in the city on Saturday, even as the Siddharamaiah Government is yet to announce the official list of party workers being nominated as Chairmen to 85 State-run Boards and Corporations.
The duo, who are being treated at K.R. Hospital in city, have been identified as Prabhakar, 68 and his son Pratap, 37, residents of Ittigegud in city.
While Prabhakar is being treated at an ICU, Pratap is being treated in a ward.
It is reported that the father-son duo consumed excess dose of sleeping tablets at their Ittigegud residence after learning that none of the two had been nominated to any Board or Corporation.
It is learnt Prabhakar is the former President of Ittigegud Block Congress Committee.
