Mysore :Based on a complaint filed by Head Mistress of Government Girl’s School in N.R. Mohalla, Mandi Police have arrested a visually impaired music teacher for alleged sexual harassment to girl students at the School.

The nabbed music teacher, who is now cooling his heels after being remanded to judicial custody, has been identified as 55-year-old Siddaraju and he has been booked under provisions of ‘Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act’.

It is reported that after students complained of harassment by Siddaraju, Head Mistress Prabha conducted a preliminary enquiry and submitted a report to the Block Education Officer (BEO) and Child Welfare Committee (CWC) saying that the allegations were sound.

The CWC, which took note of the report, directed Prabha to lodge a complaint with Police. However, Siddaraju, in a statement given to Police has denied all allegations.

“I have been working as a music teacher for the past 35 years without a blemish. Head Mistress Prabha has provoked students to file a complaint as I, along with eight teachers, had complained against her with higher authorities,” said Siddaraju.
