Mysore: State Women’s Commission Chairperson Manjula Manasa has urged the government to initiate a probe by CID, CBI or Lokayukta into the assault on Director General of Administrative Training Institute (ATI) Rashmi Mahesh recently in the institute premises in city.

She was speaking to the press after calling on Rashmi at the latter’s residence on Valmiki Road in V.V. Puram here.

Manjula condemned the assault and said that the senior IAS officer was so badly assaulted by the mob that Rashmi had sustained minor head injuries and a broken tooth. She also expressed surprise at the inefficiency of the Police and added that she would also write to the Chief Minister seeking a high-level probe into the assault.

Following the assault the city Police have placed a cordon around Rashmi’s residence and also provided an escort vehicle in addition to the gun man.

Govt. issues notice: The Karnataka Government, issued a notice to V. Rashmi, Director General of the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) in Mysore on charges of indiscipline asking her to reply within a reasonable period of time.

Citing reasons for serving the notice, Chief Secretary Kaushik Mukherjee said that Rashmi going to the Press without prior permission to expose the alleged Rs. 100 crore scam at ATI, was considered as an act indiscipline under provisions in All-India Services Conduct Rules, 1968 and All-India Services Discipline and Appeal Rules, 1969.

Stating that the government had started a probe on the alleged scam last month soon after receipt of Rashmi’s letter, Kaushik added that Additional Chief Secretary T.M.Vijaya Bhaskar had been entrusted with the responsibility and going to the press even when the probe was on is wrong on Rashmi’s part.
