ATI DG Rashmi assault case: Police officials hold zonal-level meeting

Mysore: The ADGP (Law and Order) H.C. Kishore Chandra and ADGP (Crime and Technical Service) N.S. Megharikh arrived in the city on Monday morning October 20, to hold a Zonal-level meeting of Police officials of all the districts under the Southern Range.

Kishore Chandra, had a meeting at the auditorium of Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) in Nazarbad, with IGP (Southern Range) Bijay Kumar Singh, KPA Director A.S.N. Murthy, City Police Commissioner Dr. M.A. Saleem, SP Abhinav Ashok Khare, SPs and DySPs of Mysore, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Hassan and Kodagu districts and also Inspectors of all the Stations in the city and took stock of the law and order situation at their respective jurisdictions.

The meeting was held in the back drop of the assault by anti-social elements on V. Rashmi, Director General of the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) on October 15 when she was on a visit to the ATI premises to pay her last respects to ATI Mess Manager Venkatesh, who was found dead in a sump.

Venkatesh’s kin try to meet ADGP: Meanwhile, the deceased ATI Mess Manager Venkatesh’s wife Manjula, son Suhas and daughter Sushma, who tried to meet ADGP Kishore Chandra, were stopped as the meeting had already begun. The trio was waiting for the completion of the meeting to meet the ADGP and vent their grievances.
