Mysore: In a novel effort to create better interaction between autorickshaw drivers and tourists arriving for Mysore Dasara, CII – Yi Mysore Chapter conducted a soft skill and stress management training session for auto drivers in city yesterday at Mahajana Primary School auditorium in Jayalakshmipuram.
Over 70 auto drivers from various parts of the city voluntarily participated in the programme which included training the drivers on how to interact with passengers, teaching them how to build trust among passengers, especially lady passengers, and creating a bond among the auto drivers themselves.
Utsav Agarwal, Chair – Yi Mysore Chapter and Director, Bhoruka Fabcons said, we intend to conduct such programmes across the city so that we can reach a substantial number of drivers to bring about a change.
‘In most circumstances negative responses are situational. But the tourist often carries them back and a general impression is formed that auto drivers are bad. By imparting soft skills, we are confident that they will be able to react differently and in a more positive manner leaving with good memories of Mysore,’ said Utsav.
