Mysuru: Following the issuance of Akrama Sakrama application forms at all nine MCC Zonal Offices across the city from yesterday, a total of 900 application forms were sold on the first day itself.
Almost all Zonal Offices witnessed a poor turnout by application seekers this morning with only a few seeking applications.
Though the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) had announced that the applications would be issued from Monday, it was not done so as they had not received the applications which caused the delay even on Tuesday and the issuance of applications began only from yesterday.
At MCC Zone-1 Office on Thyagaraja Road, next to Akkana Balaga School here yesterday, two counters were opened — one to issue and accept challan for the form and another one was opened by ING Vysya Bank to collect the prescribed fee of Rs. 60. Of the four challans, two will be retained by the bank, while one will be retained by MCC and the remaining challan will be handed over to the applicant along with a handbook, which comprises application forms in three different colours (green, yellow and pink) and related information on the types of violations to be regularised under the scheme. The violations regarding set back and floor area ratio (FAR) should be filled in green form, illegal sites in yellow form and illegal construction in pink form. The penalty amount for the violations will be fixed depending on the violations, pending Supreme Court order.
Meanwhile, an official at the MCC said that the number of applicants would grow in the days to come as most of them were downloading the application forms through the internet.
