89 illegal gas cylinders seized, accused absconding

Mysore: The food and civil supply department officials have seized illegal gas cylinders hidden by various gas agencies here on July 25.

The accused identified as Ramachandra, at Chamaraja Double road used to sell cylinders illegally.

Officials who got the information raided the shop and seized 63 cylinders weighing 2 to 3 kgs, 17 cylinders weighing 5kg, seven cylinders weighing 14kg and two cylinders weighing 19kg.

Reportedly the alleged is said to be absconding, however the officials have managed to seize total 89 cylinders, which is worth 3.5 lakhs.

The raid was carried under the guidance of Deputy director Dr K Rameshwarappa, Assistant Director H K Ramu, Area Food Inspector Raghavendra, Mohalla inspector Mallikarjuna, Chamaraja Mohalla Inspector Mahesh Kumar, Mandi Mohalla inspector Sathish and others.

A case has been registered against the accused at Laxmipuram station.
