In the protest near Clock Tower here in the city, Dakshina Kannada Congress Committee President Harish Kumar told media, “Nalin Kumar is unfit to be a Member of Parliament. His contribution to the district is zero. By communally polarising the people in the district, he is creating a communal unrest. His behaviour against the police officer was unfair. He should resign from his position. BJP has carried out the procession by violating the law.”

Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress Committee President Mithun Rai stated that by obstructing police officer on duty MP Nalin Kumar had tried to bring black mark to the district. “Police of the district have a lot of respect in the state. Without any political pressure, they are working towards maintaining peace, harmony and unity in the district. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel along with his goonda activists have tried to threaten the police officer”, he charged.

He also demanded the resignation of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel from his position.

He demanded the release of the activists and threatened to call for a bandh if cases were registered against BJP workers.
