Will go ahead with Tipu Jayanthi: CM

Mangaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah arrived at Mangaluru International Airport on Sunday, October 22 and will be seen inaugurating and laying foundation stones for various development works worth Rs 252.50 crore in Bantwal taluk.

These developmental works, which have been take up at a cost of Rs 148.29 crore in Bantwal, constituency of district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai will be inaugurated by the CM during his visit today. The works include the Mini Vidhana Soudha with 3,225 sqmt built-up area, inspection bungalow, KSRTC bus stand, 100-bed hospital, Mescom building, drinking water scheme in the municipal limits , tree park, new regional transport office and others.

He will also lay foundation stones for other development works, including Kavishishya Panje Mangesh Rao auditorium construction, Kadeshivalaya – Ajilamogaru Harmony Bridge, multi-village drinking water project which will be undertaken at an estimated cost of Rs 104.21 crore.

Interacting with mediapersons, Siddramaiah termed as baseless allegations of coal scam. Further, he added that the state government will observe the Tipu Jayanthi despite the objections, protests by the opposition.

He was earlier welcomed by minister for forest, environment and ecology B Ramanath Rai, Minister for food and Civil Supplies U T Khader, Energy Minister D K Shivkumar, MLC and State Chief whip Ivan D’souza, Udupi district in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA J R Lobo, Abhaychandra Jain among others.
