Mangaluru: Yes, Dakshina Kannada has been witnessing communal tensions with several untoward incidents being reported from the city. However, what stood apart when 28-year-old Sharath, an RSS worker lay in a pool of blood after being assaulted by few persons was the help offered by a Muslim fellow to rush him to the hospital in a bid to save his life.
The man in question is Abdul Rahouf, fruit stall vendor who has known Sharath for nearly 14 years.
It is gathered that Abdul came to know of the attack on Sharath from few persons on that fateful day and he without having a second thought rushed to the help of his friend. Abdul, who also owns an auto rushed Sharath to the hospital in it at a time when people preferred to stay out of trouble.
Meanwhile, Sharath continues to be in a critical condition. According to the police, his condition is being monitored closely.
