Jagadish Shenava, District VHP President, aired the above views while addressing the media here on October 17 to brief about the cow worshipping programme planned by VHP in 120 places in Mangaluru. During Deepavali celebration, devotees will worship cows as a part of the Hindu rituals, said Jagadish Shenava and called upon the devotees to take part in these programmes in large numbers.
He condemned the attack on software engineer Nandini by miscreants after she complained of illegal cow slaughter in Bengaluru and demanded stringent action against the police constables who ran away instead of shielding Nandini.
He urged the police department to provide security to cow vigilantes.
