Mangaluru: The officers of Karnataka Legal Metrology department have raided 394 places in malls and shops against the China made non-standard and non-approved weighing machines and registered 71 cases across the state, State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, U T Khader said.

“The department has raided 61 places in Bengaluru City and registered 30 cases, 58 places in Bengaluru Rural and registered one case, 108 places in Mysore division and registered 24 cases registered, 130 places in Belgaum Division and registered 15 cases and 39 places in Gulbarga Division and registered one case”, he added.

On Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP and BJP leader Shobha Karandalaje’s campaign to support the schools run by Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat by collecting fistful of rice, Khader said that the Darmika Parishad had stopped it. Instead of blaming CM, they should have appealed to Chief Minister or Deputy Commissioner of Muzari Department about the issue, he added.

Taking a jibe at Shobha Karandlaje for collecting fistful of rice to support Kalladka Bhat’s schools, Khader said, “It is not enough to collect rice for one day or for a photography. If really meant, she has to do it daily. If she comes to my residence, even I will donate as much as possible.

After the press meet, State Minister U T Khader also honoured Soujanya Hegde, the Mrs. Popular in Mrs India Worldwide 2017 pageant.
