Kasargod: The missing case of 21 youth from Kerala, which has left the Kerala police in a state of tizzy has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday, by the Union Home Ministry.
The Centre has issued orders for transferring the investigation of two cases to the NIA under Section 6(4) of the NIA Act.
It is said that the NIA decided to take over the case after conducting a preliminary probe in Kasargod, Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram.
As many as 21 youth, including women from various pockets of Kerala such as Palakkad and Kasargod districts went missing mysteriously and only later the case found a link to terror activities. The police sources suspected that there was a common link between the 21 cases and that there were strong possibilities of the youth having joined the dreaded terror outfit ISIS.
