Sullia: Due to incessant rains in the last couple of days, the lifeline of Sullia Town, Payaswini river has once again regained its glory.
The river now flows above the temporary barrage, making the people heave a sigh of relief.
The rains have allayed the fears of people in Sullia, who suffered from severe water crisis during the summer months. Now heavy duty pump sets of around 50 HP have been employed and the water supply has been restored back to normal.
The earlier decision to supply water on alternate days by the town Panchayath has been withdrawn from Thursday evening as the inflow has increased. The rains have infused fresh enthusiasm within the farming community and water starved residents are beaming smiles.
