Mangaluru: Street vendors occupying the footpaths near State Bank circle and Rao and Rao circle had to forego their wares as Mangaluru City Corporation officials undertook an eviction drive here on Monday, February 13 morning.
The officials seized the goods of those vendors who had put up shops by the roadside. Remarkably, many vendors, who usually set up their shops here, were found to be missing during the raids as though they had prior information of the same.
While the MCC has conducted such eviction drives earlier too, the street vendors have often returned to occupy the roads as usual after the raids.
