Mangaluru: A march for restoring peace and harmony in the Dakshina Kannada district on September 12 as proposed by district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai has not got the required permission from the state government, it is learnt.

The Unity march was to be taken out from Farangipet to Mani and its announcement had come shortly after the BJP announced the Mangaluru Chalo.

The march, which was being viewed as a counter strategy of the Congress is likely to be called off after state home minister Ramalinga Reddy denied permission for the same citing that it may disrupt the harmony in the region, which has now returned to normalcy.
