Belthangady: In a gruesome incident, a son teamed up with his wife to kill his own mother over an alleged property dispute at Keyoor in Belthangady. However, Radhamma (55) escaped the murder bid by her own son and daughter in-law.

Radhamma was living at Neekarekodi along with her husband and children and had developed a dispute with one of her sons Harish Gowda and daughter in-law Divyaprabha.

However, Harish and his wife are believed to have assaulted Radhamma and then poured kerosene on her in a bid to char her to death, over an ongoing dispute over 1.60 acre of land.

Though Radhamma had lodged a police complaint with regard to the harassment that she was facing, nothing yielded any result.

On Sunday, Harish had got heavy earth movers to the location and started excavating the land. When Radhamma opposed, the couple poured fuel on her. When the elderly raised alarm, her husband and other children rushed to the spot. However, Radhamma was injured in the incident and has been admitted to a local hospital.
