Moodbidri: ‘Alva’s Virasat – 2017’, an annual cultural festival instituted by the Alva’s Education Foundation came to an end on a high note on Sunday, January 15 with the audiences swaying to the melodious renditions of Bollywood playback singers Shaan and Payal Dev.
Various cultural programmes marked the last day of the three-day cultural fest being held at Puthige.
The day’s programme started off with songs by Shaan, and Payal Dev which had the audience gyrating and tapping away to their tunes.
Later Gargi, Archana and Samanvi representing Latangi School of Music Udupi presented ‘Gaanarchana’, a classical music programme that was followed by ‘Bharatanatyam – Pushpanjali’ put together by a team of 40 students from Alva’s educational institutions under the direction of Sheela Unnikrishnan from Chennai.
Another troupe of 30 students performed the Manipuri stick dance under the guidance of Preetam Singh and a group of 60 students presented a folk dance from Srilanka, directed by Jayampati Bhandara from Colombo.
