Mangaluru: “Young journalists should be enthusiastic to write by digging deeper into a subject and provide solutions to the problem without sensationalising the news, opined Harish Hande, India Social Entrepreneur and Co-Founder of SELCO.
Addressing the media organised in Mangalore Press Club here on September 22, he said, “India is a country which has both the faces-advanced technology as well as poverty with least Human Development Index. In their story, the journalists should dig the facts, write the article by stating solutions to the problem”, he said.
“There is a difference between sensationalism and journalism. Young journalists should learn from the experiences of senior journalists in the district. South Canara should be the hub of true journalism and inspire other states in true journalism”, he added.
“Since several years students have been passing out of IT/BT colleges but what is the technology, innovations and development that they have given to the rural India?”, he questioned.
“There are 60 crore farmers in the country. Don’t you think there are innovators, entrepreneurs, policy makers in them? We have confused achievement with financial wealth whereas it is individual’s knowledge. The farmers in the country have enough talent. We are not realising that even they can be entrepreneurs, corporates, inventors or businessmen,” he added.
