Mangaluru: Three more accused have been arrested in connection with RSS activist Sharath Madiwala murder case here on August 19.
The arrested are identified as Rahim Alady(32), Saleha alias Swaleh(27) and Sadiq Pasha(35). The arrested will be produced in the court and Swaleh will be sent to police custody for further questioning. So far the police have arrested eight persons in this connection including the Chamarajanagar district president of PFI. However the prime accused in the case remains absconding and a search is on to arrest him.
Earlier the police had arrested Abdul Shazi (36) and Khaleelullah (30) both affiliated to the Popular Front of India in connection to the murder and Riyaz Paranki, Sadiq Nelyadi and Khaleem alias Khaleemullah. However it is not yet known if Riyaz, Sadiq and Khaleem too are associated with the PFI.
A furore had been witnessed in the Dakshina Kannada district following the death of RSS worker Sharath Madiwala, who was stabbed on the night of July 4 at BC Road. He succumbed to his injuries at a city hospital three days later.
A special team comprising of 30 special officers, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Sushil Reddy had visited several places including Karwar, border areas of Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Bengaluru and Chamarajanagar to search the accused.
