Mangaluru: When the just married couple came to offer prayers at Arya Samaj in the city on Friday, the relatives of the bride allegedly attacked her in opposition to the marriage.
According to the complaint, Madusudhan, a painter by profession married Zubaida, a Muslim woman earlier in the day and came to offer prayers at the temple. Meantime, the relatives of the bride allegedly attacked her, opposing her decision to marry a Hindu man”. The couple hails from Vamanjoor.
The police said they reached the spot when there was a clash at the temple premises. “We have not taken action against the couple, since both of them are major, police said.
It’s learnt that the couple was in love with each other since five years. When both wanted to marry despite the opposition from the family, they took the help of Sri Ram Sene.
The police have registered a complaint against the relatives who attacked the bride.
